The National Day of Prayer was held on Thursday, May 7, at noon at the Dillon County Courthouse Court Room due to the rain. Dr. James Orr opened with prayer. The theme was “Glorify God among the nations, seeking Him in all generations.” Dr. Orr read 1 Chronicles 16:24. Matt Scott had an opening prayer and a song accompanied by his guitar. The Prayer for Unity was by the City of Dillon Mayor Tally McColl. The Prayer for Law Enforcement and First Responders was by Sheriff Jamie Hamilton. The Prayer for our Military and Veterans was by Chaplain Robert Sealy. The Prayer for our Schools was by Anthony Alford. The Prayer for Peace in Violent Times was by Joseph Graham. A Prayer was offered by Hoyt King. Dr. James Orr offered a Prayer for the Hispanics. The Closing Prayer was by Tommy Lee Pittman.
