Dillon School District Four would like to announce the hiring of Darius Leonard as the new Head Boys Basketball Coach of Lake View High School.
Leonard is a 2013 graduate of Lake View High School. He graduated from South Carolina State University in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in physical activity management. While at SCSU Leonard competed for the Bulldogs Football team before being drafted in the National Football League by the Indianapolis Colts. Since returning to Lake View Leonard has led the Lake View Boys Junior Varsity Basketball team for the past two seasons. He has also helped guide the Wild Gators football team as an assistant coach.
“What brought me back to Lake View is to continue the Wild Gator tenacity and help these young men grow mentally, physically, and emotionally to be the best that they can be,” said Leonard. “I am beyond thankful and grateful to be a part of this Wild Gator Athletics coaching community. I embrace leading, enthusiasm, accountability, humbleness, and will teach life lessons through the game of basketball. I am here to push, breed confidence, make great students to become great men for life after high school. I have the upmost respect for Coach Ceaser and what he has done for the basketball program over the last 13 years. My goal is to pursue greatness through work ethics and upholding the standard of what it means to be a Wild Gator.”
Leonard and his wife Kayla, who is also a Lake View High School graduate, have three children: Mia (7), Laila (5), Deuce (2), and godson DJ (20).
