The Dillon Lady Wildcats won 11-1 over the Lamar Lady Silver Foxes in varsity softball played in Dillon on April 23rd.
Prior to the game, Dillon honored two seniors: McKeena Meekins and Alyssa Lee.
After 2 and ½ innings, Dillon was up 4-0 over the visitors.
Dillon’s #5, singles to right for a lead-off hit and moved to second on a passed ball and then moved to third on a passed ball. The Lady Wildcats’ #6, Kanyla Tanksley, hit a grounder by the short stop for a double and a rbi to give Dillon a 5-0 lead. Dillon’s #8, Wanaysia Hughes, hit a sac fly to center to give Dillon a 6-0 lead. #14, Alyssa Lee was hit by a pitch and quickly stole second base. Dillon’s #11, Ashlyn Wallace, hit a hot grounder to third and arrived at second on an error and picked up a rbi. Dillon now led 7-0. #11 moved to third on a passed ball. Dillon’s #11, Ashlyn Wallace, scored on a passed ball. After 3 innings, Dillon led 8-0.
Neither team could muster a score in the fourth inning.
Lamar’s #6, Mallory Bullard, drove one to left for a single in the top of the fifth inning. #11, Taylor Guinn, hit one to left for a triple and a rbi to give Lamar the only score of the game for the Lady Silver Foxes.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Dillon’s #6, Kanyla Tanksley, hit one over the head of Lamar’s left fielder for a stand-up leadoff triple. Dillon’s #8, Wanaysia Hughes, was hit by a pitch to place base runners on first and second. #11, Ashlyn Wallace, hit a grounder to short and was safe at first and moved to second on the throw to first and attempted to score but was thrown out at home after #6 scored to give Dillon a 9-1 lead. Makeena Meekins hit a sac fly to right to score run #10, Jayla Wright. #18, Ansley Villagomez, drove one to left center and a run scored to close-out the 11-1 win for Dillon in the run-ruled 5-inning game.

The Lady Wildcats made only 1 error in the game.
Zoee Chavis began on the mound for the Lady Wildcats. She pitched 3 innings and struck out 8 of the 9 batters she faced. She did not walk anyone nor allow any runs. Jayla Wright pitched 2 innings and allowed 2 hits, 1 earned run, walked no one, and struck out 4 of the 9 batters she faced.
The Lady Silver Foxes’ A. Brantley had a stolen base in the game.
Lamar committed 4 errors in the game.
Lamar’s Isabella Hayes began on the mound. She pitched 2.1 innings and allowed 3 hits, 7 runs of which 5 were earned, walked 2, and struck out 1 of the 17 batters she faced. Ansley Brantley pitched 2.1 innings. She allowed 2 hits, 4 runs that were not earned, walked no one, and struck out 1 of the 2 batters she faced.
