LATTA — Surcie’s Market has been awarded a $10,000 grant from American Express to support restoration efforts at the historic 1912 Bank building that houses the beloved local boutique.
The project will preserve the building’s historic character while introducing upgrades designed to better serve the community — including enhanced gathering spaces, energy-efficient improvements, and new in-store experiences that encourage connection and creativity.
“This building has stood at the heart of our town for over a century,” said April Grainger, owner of Surcie’s Market. “With the support of American Express, we’re not just restoring a space — we’re investing in a place where our community can gather, shop, celebrate, and grow together.”
The restoration reinforces Surcie’s Market’s commitment to preserving local history, supporting small business vitality, and creating meaningful economic and social impact in the community.
Project updates will be shared on Surcie’s Market social media channels.
