The Latta Lady Vikings handed the Hannah-Pamplico Lady Raiders a 17-5 loss in the run-ruled 5-inning varsity softball action played in Latta on Friday, April 24.
Hannah-Pamplico took a 1-0 lead after the top of the first inning. Latta got onto the scoreboard in the bottom of the second inning with 13 runs. The Lady Raiders tacked on 3 runs in the top of the third inning. Latta added a run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Hannah-Pamplico added a run in the top of the fifth inning. Latta closed out the game in the bottom of the fifth inning with 3 runs.
Latta’s Paisley Jackson was the winning pitcher.
The Lady Raiders connected for 8 hits in the game.
Hannah-Pamplico committed 3 errors in the game.
The Raiders’ Kaylie Avant pitched 2.1 innings and allowed 3 hits, 4 earned runs, 6 walks, and struck out 1 of the 17 batters she faced. Addison Thomas pitched 2 innings and allowed 6 hits, 13 runs of which 9 were earned, walked 7, and struck out 1 of the 21 batters she faced.
The Latta Vikings will host Johnsonville on Tuesday, April 28, at 6:00 p.m.
Hannah-Pamplico will host WA on Tuesday, April 28, at 6:30 p.m.
