The Dillon Lady Wildcats shut out the Battery Creek Lady Dolphins 8-0 in varsity softball playoff action played in Beaufort, S.C., on Tuesday, May 5.
Dillon took an early 1-0 lead after the top of the first inning. The Lady Wildcats added 4 runs in the top of the fourth inning and a run in the top of the fifth inning.
Dillon had 9 hits in the game while Battery Creek was held to only 1 hit by M. Wright who had a single plus garnered a walk, also.
Dillon did not commit an error while the Lady Dolphins committed only 1 error.
Dillon’s pitcher struck out 12, walked 3, and did not allow any runs.
S. Shubert was tagged with the loss. She pitched 7 innings and allowed 9 hits, 8 runs of which 7 were earned, walked 1, and struck out 7.
With the win, Dillon is now 11-12 overall.
