Marlboro County High School’s LaDarius Brown signs with Columbia College to continue his education and his love of track that he has pursued since the eighth grade. He will major in Exercise Science.
Coach McFatten stated that LaDarius Brown was a great teammate and a great leader. He is very determined to accomplish what he sets out to do. While at Marlboro High School, Brown set records in the 4×8, 800 meter, 1600 meter, and the mile.
Brown thanked God, his family, and his coaches.
Brown was influenced by his cousin, Brittany, and Coach Malik Hicks.
Brown is also a member of the Marching Band of Marlboro County High School.
Of all of the schools that Brown has visited, Columbia College fits him best as it matches his overall character and personality.
Brown recalls the one item that he remembers most about his career in track to this point—he broke the 800-meter school record.
As he transitions to the college level from high school, he realizes that one gets out what one puts in. He has also learned that his biggest competitor is himself. The goal is t0 always be better than in his last race.
While participating in track at Marlboro County High School, he has won the Mr. Distance Award and DAWG MVP.
When Brown is not busy practicing or participating in track events or the band, he enjoys playing games, going for runs, and working out.
His mother, Angela Rossianno, is very proud of her son’s achievements both on and off the field. She looks forward to his future achievements and accomplishments.
His coaches, Coach McFatten, Coach Hunt, and Coach Rasta are also very proud of his achievements. They look forward to his continued achievements, both on and off the field.
