The Latta Lady Vikings defeated the Branchville Lady Yellow Jackets 7-1 in varsity softball playoff action held in Latta on Monday, May 18.
In the bottom of the first inning, Latta placed 4 runs onto the scoreboard and added a run in the bottom of the second inning to go up 5-0. Branchville scored a run in the top of the third inning. Latta added 2 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning for the 7-1 win.
Latta had 14 hits in the game while Branchville had 5 hits.
Branchville committed an error in the game.
The 11-10 Latta Lady Vikings will travel to Green Sea on Wednesday, May 20, to face the 13-7 Green Sea Lady Trojans at 6:30 p.m. in varsity softball action.
