Memorial Day Program

On May 25th at 11 a.m., The Dillon County Veterans of the Year will gather with other Veterans to remember local veterans who have died during wartime, and those Veterans from Dillon County who have passed away since last Memorial Day.

Those local Veterans who died during wartime number 93 and their names are listed on the Memorial Wall at Veterans Square located at 401 W. Main Street. A memorial wreath will be placed at the Memorial Wall in memory of those deceased Veterans. During the one-hour program:

The Dillon High School Army JROTC cadets will present the colors.

Rev. Joseph Graham of New Memorial Temple of Christ Church will give the invocation and the benediction.

Dillon High School student Keniah Owens will lead us in singing God Bless America and The Star-Spangled Banner.

Boys State Delegate Cooper Grainger and Girls State Delegate Madeline Solter will lead us in the pledge of allegiance to the flag.

Mr. Benny Cooper of Cooper Funeral Home will be the Memorial Day Program Speaker.

The names Dillon County Veterans who have died since Memorial Day 2025 will be read aloud followed by flags being raised and TAPS being played.

The Distinguished Deceased Veteran for 2026 will be named.
