Although Amir Bridges received other offers, she signed at the next level with Bluefield State University on Thursday, March 12, at the Marlboro County High School Media Center.
Marlboro County High School Coach Inglis remarked that Amir Bridges was a great athlete and a great student. Bridges has a 4.5 GPA. She has been a 6-year starter on the softball team. She played outfield and third base. She has 4 All Region awards. She holds the record for most stolen bases. She attempted 282 stolen bases and was only thrown out 6 times! Big Blue in West Virginia will getting a great student-athlete.
Bridges was surrounded by family, friends, coaches, other players, and many more for this special occasion.
She will continue her education where she will major in Elementary Education and continue her love for softball, a sport she has played since she was 4 years old having been influenced by her father and mother.
Bridges not only is a great softball player as an outfielder/utility play, but she also excels at volleyball.
She feels she should be a good fit for this university because as soon as she visited the campus it felt like home.
Bridges will always remember the family and friends she’s gained while playing softball. As she transitions from high school to the university level, she will carry the mindset she learned from playing softball, staying focused, pushing through challenges, and always working to improve no matter the outcome of the game.
While playing at Marlboro County High School, Bridges made All Region 2021-2023.
Bridges’ parents, Travis and Tanesha Bridges, are very proud of her accomplishments, both on and off the field. They look forward to her accomplishments in the future.
While as a Bulldog, her coaches were Coach Kevin Inglis and Dinah Inglis. They, too, are very proud of her accomplishments.
