The Latta Lady Vikings shut out the Bethune-Bowman Lady Mohawks of Orangeburg, S.C., 16-0 on Wednesday, May 6, in varsity softball action played in Latta.
Paisley Jackson pitched the first inning for Latta.
The lead-off batter (#1) for Bethune-Bowman hit a dribbler to the pitcher and was safe at first. #3 struck out swinging. #6 made it to first on an interference call. #14 struck out swinging. #2 struck out watching.
In the bottom of the first inning, Latta placed 15 runs onto the scoreboard.
In the top of the second inning, Latta’s #17 was on the mound. After hitting the lead-off batter, #16 for Bethune Bowman, on the foot, Latta’s #17 retired the side in 1-2-3 fashion with one going down swinging, another struck out watching, and the last one struck out swinging.
