Johnnie Daniels, the founder and general manager, has more than five decades of experience as a news professional, where he has excelled in both advertising, news, and photography. He has won numerous South Carolina Press Association awards during his career for his outstanding work. He enjoys covering sports and highlighting our local youth, church events, and all types of other news. He is well-known in the community for his work with Help For Veterans, Inc., an organization he founded; his work to recognize area farmers; and assisting needy families at Christmas through the local toy drive he started. Johnnie is a lifelong resident of Dillon and is an active member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Dillon.

Betsy Finklea is the editor and reporter for The Dillon County News, LLC. She has more than three decades of experience in the news business. She has won several South Carolina Press Association awards in news, photography, web, and social media and numerous local awards for outstanding news coverage with a commitment to accuracy, fairness, and integrity. Betsy is a member of Latta Methodist Church and the ISWNE (International Society of Weekly Newspaper Editors). She is actively involved in the local toy drive, the Help For Veterans Health Fair, and other charitable endeavors. She loves the community, is passionate about local news, and enjoys covering all things Dillon County as well as the surrounding area.
