Latta Lady JV Vikings Defeat Dillon 5-2

The Latta Lady Vikings defeated Dillon 5-2 in junior varsity softball action played in Dillon on Thursday, April 2.
Latta took a 2-0 lead after the top of the first inning. Dillon tied the game at 2 in the bottom of the first inning. Neither team could muster a score in the second inning. Latta added 3 runs in the top of the third inning. The game was stopped in the bottom of the third inning with 2 outs on Dillon as time had expired.
Latta’ #4 was on the mound for the Lady Vikings. Dillon’s #12 was on the mound for the Lady Wildcats.
Dillon’s K. Locklear and M. Jackson each garnered a hit. B. Deese and M. Bethea each scored a run. M. Bethea also garnered a walk. B. Penfield was hit by a pitch. Dillon left 5 on base. Dillon’s M. Bethea stole a base.
Dillon’s #12, E. Williamson, pitched 3 innings and allowed 2 hits, walked 6, struck out 2, and allowed 5 earned runs while facing 18 batters.
Latta’s #5 and #8 each garnered a hit.
Latta’s #4 picked up the win.
The 4-2 Dillon Lady Wildcats will travel to Waccamaw on Tuesday, April 14, for a 5:00 p.m. game.
The 4-0 Latta Lady Vikings will host Lamar on Wednesday, April 15.
