Carvers Bay’s Lady Bears handed Latta Lady Vikings a 51-49 in Latta on Wednesday, February 11. This was Latta’s first region loss of the basketball season.
Latta held a 14-9 lead over Carvers Bay after the first quarter. The Lady Vikings held a slim 1-point, 21-20 lead at halftime. By the end of the third quarter, Latta held a 42-31 lead. Latta placed 7 points onto the scoreboard in the final quarter while Carvers Bay added 20 points to claim the win.
Carvers Bay’s Kandace Hutchinson led her team with 24 points. Mackenzie Collins added 9 points, and Zeniah Smith contributed 6 points. Briana Nesmith placed 5 points onto the scoreboard while Haidyn Allen added 4 points. Kaidyn Holmes connected for 3 points.
