The Seven-On-Seven football began in Dillon on Thursday, June 4, at 10:00 a.m. at the Dillon High School Wildcats’ practice fields located behind Dillon High School.
Present for the first series were teams from Dillon, Chesterfield, Darlington, Carvers Bay, a “Purple” Wilson Team, and a “Gray” Wilson Team.
Seven-on-seven football is fast-paced, passing focused version of American football played with seven players on each team. Teams practice their passing and route-running skills while there is no blocking or tackling allowed. There are no linemen. The quarterback has a set time to release the football, or the play is blown dead.
Dillon faced Darlington in the first 20-minute practice. Dillon faced the Wilson “Purple” team in the second 20-minute practice.
Dillon High School is located at 1730 Hwy. 301 North, Dillon, S.C.
