COLUMBIA – Rick Bonnoitt, a retired Darlington County business owner, was elected to the University of South Carolina Board of Trustees representing the 4th Judicial Circuit.
He joins 19 other voting-members on the governing board over South Carolina’s flagship university, which serves more than 55,000 students on eight statewide campuses.
Bonnoitt received a bachelor’s degree in government and international studies from USC in 1979.
“My main focal points as a trustee is to keep tuition affordable, ensure that all South Carolina students have an opportunity to attend one of our campuses, and make sure that we are preparing and adapting to the workforce and the needs of our state,” Bonnoitt said.
His son, Mark, and daughter, Elizabeth, are both USC graduates.
