Clio Police Department Announces Arrest in March 2026 Juvenile Shooting Investigation

CLIO, S.C. — The Clio Police Department announces the arrest of Ahmad Malik Manning in connection with the March 6, 2026 shooting of a 13-year-old juvenile on Main Street in Clio.
Manning was arrested on Monday, May 18, 2026, in Washington, D.C. after an extensive investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies. Manning waived extradition and was transported back to Marlboro County on May 27, 2026, where he was formally charged with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime.

This type of violence has no place in our community, and we are thankful for the swift and coordinated efforts of those who worked tirelessly to bring this individual into custody. Their actions demonstrate the strong commitment our Police Department have to protecting the citizens of Clio and ensuring those responsible for dangerous criminal acts are held accountable.
