The Dillon Yellow Jessamine Garden Club planted a flowering Cherry tree at the City of Dillon Wellness Center in recognition of Arbor Day.
Terry Hayes opened the event and introduced Rev. Harold Cooke of Mount Calvary Baptist Church.
Rev. Cooke remarked that The State Garden Club celebrated its 96th birthday 2 days ago. “The Yellow Jessamine Garden Club of Dillon makes Dillon County look great,” stated Rev. Cooke. In Genesis 1: 9-13 on the third day, God commanded the earth to bring forth vegetation, including seed-bearing plants and trees. On the sixth day, God created man and woman to live in the garden and were to dress and keep the garden.
