The Pee Dee Academy Lady Golden Eagles wins over the Dillon Christian School Lady Warriors 6-4 in junior varsity softball played in Dillon on Thursday, April 16.
After 4 and ½ innings of play, Pee Dee Academy held a 5-0 lead over the Dillon Christian School.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Dillon Christian School’s #2 hit a grounder by second for a lead-off single. Dillon Christian School’s #2 stole second. The Lady Warriors’ #6 hit a grounder to second and was out at first but advanced #2 to third. Dillon’s #1 hit one to short left for a single and a rbi to get Dillon Christian School onto the scoreboard.
Pee Dee Academy tacked on another run in the top of the sixth inning when the Golden Eagles’ #2 crossed home plate to go up 6-1.
Pee Dee Academy placed #8 on the mound to face Dillon Christian School in the bottom of the sixth inning. Dillon Christian School responded with a run when #11 hit a grounder to short, and #14 hit one to left for a double and the rbi. Dillon Christian School trailed 6-2 after 6 innings.
Pee Dee Academy did not score in the top of the sixth inning.
The Lady Warriors’ #6 garnered a lead-off walk followed by #1 who garnered a hit and ended up on third base with a rbi. #5 hit safely to first, and #1 scored to cut the lead to 6-4.
