Murder Suspect Taken Into Custody By Dillon Police

Officers with the Dillon Police Department have taken Bradley Demarcus Wheeler, 28, Murder Suspect Taken Into Custody By Dillon Police custody on the evening of Thursday, April 9, 2026, following an ongoing homicide investigation.
Wheeler was identified as a suspect in connection with an incident that occurred on South 1st Avenue on March 23, 2026, within the city limits of Dillon. He was located and apprehended without incident.
At the time of his arrest, Wheeler was wanted on multiple charges, including Murder, Attempted Murder, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime.
Chief Herring commended the coordinated efforts of department personnel and partner agencies, including the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office, the Dillon County Coroner’s Office, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, whose assistance played a key role in bringing this case to a resolution.
Wheeler was transported to the Dillon County Detention Center and is currently awaiting a bond hearing. As with all criminal cases, the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
