Marion Wins 14-1 Over Manning

The Marion Swamp Foxes won 14-1 over Manning in the run-ruled varsity baseball action played in Manning on Tuesday, April 21.
Marion placed 2 runs onto the scoreboard in the top of the first inning and added 10 runs in the top of the second inning to take a 12-0 lead over Manning. In the top of the third inning, the Swamp Foxes added another run. The Manning Monarchs scored the lone run in the bottom of the third inning. Marion added a run in the top of the fourth inning.
The Monarchs’ C. Robinson had a triple and a rbi in the game while L. David added a single and a walk. A. Watts also garnered a walk.
Manning’s C. Robinson pitched 3.1 innings and allowed 6 hits, 4 runs of which 3 were earned, walked 2, and struck out 3 of the 17 batters he faced. J. Broadway pitched 1 innings and allowed 3 hits, 6 earned runs, walked 2, and struck out 2 of the 9 batters he faced. L. David pitched .2 inning and allowed no hits, 2 runs that were not earned, walked 5, and struck out 2 of the 7 batters he faced. C. Caples pitched and allowed no hits, walked 2, and allowed 2 earned runs of the 2 batters he faced.
Manning is 5-13 overall and 2-7 in region play.
The 5-11 overall and 5-4 in AA Region 8 Marion Swamp Foxes will host Manning on Thursday, April 23, at 6:30 p.m.
