The Latta Lady Vikings won 9-4 over the Green Sea Floyds Lady Trojans on Wednesday, May 20, at Green Sea, in varsity softball playoff action.
Latta place a run onto the scoreboard in the top of the first inning. Green Sea responded with a run in the bottom of the first inning to tie the score at 1. In the bottom of the second inning, Green Sea Floyds added a run to go up 2-1. In the top of the fourth inning, Latta added 6 runs to go up 7-2. In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Lady Trojans added a run to cut the lead to 3 runs, 7-3. In the top of the sixth inning, Latta added 2 runs to go up 9-3. In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Green Sea Floyds Lady Trojans added a run to go up 9-4 for the final score of the game.
Latta had 12 hits, and Green Sea Floyds had 4 hits.
Each team committed 4 errors in the game.
The 12-11 Latta Lady Vikings will travel to Green Sea to face the Lady Trojans on Friday, May 22, at 6:00 p.m.
