Latta IB Students Take Senior Trip

A group of people sits in red and green canoes on a calm lake, with green trees visible in the background under a clear blue sky.

Since the program’s inception, the Latta IB HL Seniors have taken a culminating trip to explore some area of our state and extend their learning beyond the classroom. This year, our students chose to kayak the Waccamaw River with Great Escapes Expeditions in Longs, SC. Everyone agreed the two-hour river adventure was tremendous fun as well as educational. We had the opportunity to see an osprey nest and some local wildlife, including mussels, snakes, fish, and even a boar named “BLT.” We appreciate how hard our students work every day, and we hope that this excursion was something they will always remember. The IB faculty would like to congratulate all of the IB seniors, and we wish them the best in their future endeavors.
