The Lake View Wild Gators defeated the visiting Carvers Bay Bears 16-1 in the run-ruled shortened 3-inning varsity baseball game played in Lake View on Thursday, May 2.
The Bears jumped out to a 1-0 lead after the top of the first inning.
The Wild Gators responded with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the first inning.
Carvers Bay was held scoreless in the top of the second inning.
Lake View wasted little time in the bottom of the second. With a barrage of passed balls, walks, and hits, the Wild Gators added 12 runs in the bottom of the second inning to go up 14-1. The Bears did not give up and substituted pitcher after pitcher in an attempt to slow the Wild Gators momentum.
The Bears could not muster any offense in the top of the third inning.
In the bottom of the third inning, Lake View added 2 runs to close out the game and advance to the next game in the playoffs.
