HAMER, S.C. — Kentyre Presbyterian Church recently demonstrated its commitment to serving the community by sponsoring a month-long “Paws & Pray” donation drive benefiting the Dillon County Sheriff’s Animal Protective Services Shelter.
Throughout the month of June, church members and community supporters generously donated food, cleaning supplies, toys, and other much-needed items to help care for animals awaiting adoption.
Thanks to the overwhelming support, the drive collected:

118.4 pounds of dry cat food
106 cans of wet cat food
357 pounds of dry dog food
133.5 pounds of dry puppy food
12 cans of wet puppy food
3 pounds of Milk-Bone treats
2 pounds of cat treats
One dog bed
One cat treadmill
Two pet toys
One cat play tunnel
Six rolls of paper towels
Two gallons of bleach
One 56-ounce bottle of Palmolive dish soap
Two scrub brushes
Three dog bowls
Three cat bowls
Two containers of Clorox wipes
Church leaders expressed their sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed, noting that every donation will help improve the care and comfort of animals housed at the shelter.
The outreach project reflects Kentyre Presbyterian Church’s mission to serve both people and God’s creation, inspired by the words of Proverbs 12:10: “The righteous care for the needs of their animals.”
The church extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated and helped make the “Paws & Pray” drive a success, proving that even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals in need.
