JAMBOREE: Richmond County Gets 14-7 Win Over West Florence

The Jamboree of Champions took place at the Dillon Memorial Football Stadium on Friday, August 16.
Fans enjoyed the 10-team ensemble as the games began at 5:30 p.m. with West Florence facing Richmond County in the opening match-up.
The West Florence Knights under sixth-year Head Coach Jody Jenerette scored first with 6:45 remaining in the first quarter on a pass to the Knights’ #1. The PAT was good by #40 to give West Florence a 7-0 lead.
The Richmond County team wasted little time in responding with a touchdown pass to #18 that was nullified due to a holding call. Seconds later, Richmond County’s #15 was on the receiving end of a pass for a touchdown with 2:39 remaining in the first quarter. The PAT was good by #30 to knot the score at 7 each. Richmond County’s first-year Head Coach Brad Denson garnered his first touchdown.
With 5:19 remaining in the second quarter, Richmond County’s #19 scampered for an 83-yard touchdown after the reception to give the Raiders a 13-7 lead. The PAT was good by #30 to give Richmond Count a 14-7 lead over West Florence. Richmond County’s defense prevailed to give the Raiders a 14-7 win.
