Hannah-Pamplico Defeats Latta 13-3

The Hannah-Pamplico Lady Raiders defeated the Latta Lady Vikings 13-3 in varsity softball playoff action held in Pamplico on Friday, May 22.
Hannah-Pamplico placed 2 runs onto the scoreboard in the bottom of the first inning and added 4 runs in the bottom of the second inning to take an early 6-0 lead over Latta. Latta scored 3 runs in the top of the third inning to cut the Lady Raiders’ lead to 1 run, 4-3. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Hannah-Pamplico added 1 run. In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Lady Raiders placed 6 more runs onto the scoreboard to close out the run-ruled 6-inning playoff game.
The Lady Raiders connected for 15 hits in the game, and Latta had 7 hits.
Hannah-Pamplico’s Chloe Cooper, Kadence Poston, and Meredith Stone each had 3 hits in the game while Kaylie Avant connected for 2 hits. Savannah Owens, London Lee, Linley Kate Freeman, and Allie Wenger each had a hit in the game.
Latta committed 2 errors in the game. Hannah-Pamplico did not commit an error in the game.
The Lady Raiders’ Kaylie Avant, Savannah Owens, and Allie Wenger each stole a base in the game.
Kadence Poston was the winning pitcher. She pitched 6 innings and allowed 7 hits, 3 earned runs, walked 2, and struck out 9 of the 27 batters she faced.
The Latta Lady Vikings ended the season with 13 wins and 12 losses.
