City of Dillon Police Department Releases Information on Monday’s Shootings

On March 23, 2026, at approximately 5:00 p.m., officers with the Dillon Police Department were dispatched to a residence on South 9th Avenue, located within the city limits of Dillon, in reference to a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers immediately rendered aid until Dillon County EMS arrived on scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Officers secured the scene and began processing evidence.
While officers were actively processing the scene on South 9th Avenue, at approximately 5:20 p.m., a second shooting was reported on South 1st Avenue, also within the city limits of Dillon. Officers responded to that location and discovered multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers rendered aid until EMS arrived, and the victims were transported to a local hospital. One of the victims later succumbed to their injuries. Officers processed the second crime scene and collected evidence related to that incident as well.
At this time, these shootings are being investigated as separate incidents. Both cases remain active and ongoing. Investigators are utilizing all available resources to identify and locate any individuals involved.
