On 2/22 & 2/24, the Dillon VFW Post 6091 collected the worn/tattered flags from the flag boxes in Latta and Dillon respectively for a later retirement ceremony. The American flag represents our Nation and as we care for it, we care for our Nation. During February in a private ceremony at the VFW Post, the VFW ceremoniously retired by fire in a designated fire barrel 800 American flags collected from these two community flag boxes.
The public is encouraged to place their worn and or tattered American flags into these boxes for their proper disposal by members of the Dillon VFW.
