Suspended Marlboro County Sheriff Found Not Guilty In Federal Trial

Suspended Marlboro County Sheriff Charles Lemon was found not guilty in a federal trial on Monday.
Lemon was accused of using unreasonable force against a pretrial detainee in the Marlboro County Detention Center in May 2020.
A federal grand jury in Florence returned a single-count indictment in January against Charles Bernard Lemon, age 59, and David Andrew Cook, age 29, both of Bennettsville, for using excessive force in violation of federal law.
