Reception Held To Honor New Deputy Sammy Smith

Dillon County’s newest deputy, Sammy Smith, was recognized for his accomplishments at a reception this evening, Tuesday, October 28, at the Boys To Men/Girls With Purpose Youth Center. The reception was hosted by his uncle and aunt, Bobby and Kimberly Porter. Several people spoke about how proud they were of Deputy Smith noting his perseverance, never give up attitude, and eagerness and willingness to serve the citizens of Dillon County as a deputy. Among the speakers were Lt. Bobby Porter, Kimberly Porter, Chief Deputy Wayne Green, Sheriff Jamie Hamilton, Jackie Thomas, and others. Deputy Smith thanked everyone for attending and for their faith and confidence in him.
After the remarks, everyone enjoyed a delicious meal and fellowship.
It was a wonderful way to honor Deputy Smith as he embarks on his new career.
