Contributed by Lisa Moody, City of Dillon, and John Harlow for Dillon Veterans of the Year
The annual City of Dillon Veterans Day parade is 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, 11/11/2025, and all veterans, and others, participating are asked to form at South Plaza beginning at 8AM and not later than 10:00 a.m. The parade honors all veterans, active-duty military members, guardsmen, and reservists. This year the grand marshal for the parade will be Purple Heart recipients. It is an honor to recognize Purple Heart recipients in this special way on Veterans Day. Regretfully, those who died of their combat wounds will again not be with us on Veterans Day. They will be missed, but their service and sacrifice to America is not forgotten.
Purple Heart recipients will lead the parade from South Plaza to Veterans Square. Transportation will be available for any veteran unable to walk in the parade.
Individuals wishing to register for the parade should contact City of Dillon Downtown Coordinator Lisa Moody on 843.845.4393 or lmoody@cityofdillon.gov. Families are encouraged to participate in the parade.
The City of Dillon Veterans Day Parade is sponsored by Anderson Brothers Bank.

Dillon County SC Veterans of the Year Commander Thom Thompson will open the program for all veterans and others attending .
