Tall Pines Grocery is being torn down to make room for a new, bigger store that is under construction directly behind the new location.
Many people have fond membries of the old location which had a hot dog statue and french fries statue out front. The Dillon County News is told that the store still has these statues although they were old and not in the best condition. The store used to be called the Kwic Shop. It was owned by Floyd Griffin, the Cowards, and the Wellingfton family for many years.
The new store is expected to open sometime near the summer.
