The Dillon County Veterans of the Year Memorial Day program is on Monday, 5/26/2025 at 11AM at Veterans Square. At this patriotic service, the Dillon High School Army JROTC Cadets will post and retire the flags.
Navy Lieutenant/Chaplain Jamie Arnette will give the invocation and the benediction. Dillon High School student Kaniah Owens will sing God Bless America and the National Anthem. The pledge of allegiance will be recited. Dillon Mayor Tally McColl will make remarks about Memorial Day.
The names of local Veterans who have died since last Memorial Day will be read and a memorial bell tolled in their memory. A memorial wreath will be placed at the Memorial Wall and TAPS will be played by Dillon High School student Cameron Ellison, and at noontime flags will be raised from half-staff to full staff.
The Distinguished Deceased Veteran for 2025 will be named and family members will receive a memorial plaque.
The Dillon County Veterans of the Year invite all patriotic citizens to attend this Memorial Day patriotic program to remember those in the United States military who have died during wartime
