Little Pee Dee State Park may well be one of the hidden gems in Dillon County where residents and visitors alike can enjoy nature and activities such as fishing, swimming in season, and boating on the lake.

Fishing is allowed at the park year-round. The park is open every day of the year from 9 a.m. until sunset. Sunset time changes throughout the year so park officials suggest that visitors check their weather app or google “what time is sunset in Dillon, SC” to ensure they depart the park before the gate is closed and locked.
The swimming area is currently open and will remain open until Labor Day weekend, September 1st. Swimming is only allowed in the designated swimming area which is marked by ropes and buoys. There are rules for the swimming area posted, and a life ring is available if needed. The swimming area opens at 9 a.m. and closes one hour before sunset.

Boat rentals are offered at the park starting at 11 a.m. in the park office. They have canoes, kayaks, and jon boats available for rent for $10 an hour. Life jackets and paddles are supplied at the office. As long as boats are kept clean, fishing is allowed off the boats. Park officials are thrilled to be offering paddle boat rentals this year as a new addition to the park. They rent for 30 minute time slots for $10 and can seat up to four people. There is a paddle boat with an ADA hand crank attached for anyone who needs it. The boats are kept on the fishing pier to make loading/unloading easier. The park does have a canoe launch and a boat ramp available to the public from 9 a.m. until sunset where people can put their own boats in the water. As long as they are not using a gas motor, then private boats are allowed on the lake any time of year.

There are also nature trails for those who enjoy hiking, playground equipment for the kids, and a large picnic shelter.
There are camping areas and a camper cabin that is available for rent.
