Kris Lane of CareSouth Carolina was the guest speaker at the Floyd Dale Senior In-Crowd today, September 25th.
Prior to the meal and Lane’s presentation, Danny and Sarah Price entertained everyone with the singing of “Lord Build Me A Cabin in the Corner of Gloryland.”
Lane, a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina, has been practicing as a Family Nurse Practitioner for 9 years at the CareSouth location in Latta.
CareSouth is a FQHC, which is a federally qualified health center. He spoke about the various services offered by CareSouth. he also spoke about the low 12 minute wait time to see a doctor. He said there are 13 CareSouth locations in five counties. The Latta location is housed in the old Latimer School.
Kris also spoke about the new guidelines for high blood pressure and vaccines such as the shingles vaccine, the best time to take flu shots which he said was a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving, and the new COVID booster.
Those attending had the opportunity to ask questions. Each person left with a bag of CareSouth goodies. Everyone enjoyed his informative presentation.
