Ruby Lee Deaver Brumble, 74, passed away peacefully at her home in Dillon on Saturday, February 7, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Born April 4, 1951, in Dillon, South Carolina, Ruby was the daughter of the late Robert Charles Deaver and Johnsie Coley McKenzie.
Ruby is survived by her sons, Jimmy (Debi) Brumble, Jr. of Statesville, NC and Terry Brumble of Hamer, SC; stepson Tony (Betty Lou) Brumble of Latta, SC; sisters, Mary Alice Reaves and Patricia (Jimmy) Bohachic both of Dillon; and brother, E. Leary (Katie) McKenzie, of Dillon. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren: Brittany (Parley) Goforth, Blaine Nesbit, Tyler (Chelsea) Brumble, Bethany (Chris) Hanley, Leah Brumble, and Alex Brumble, as well as 5 great-grandchildren. Ruby was blessed with numerous nephews and nieces, including a special nephew, John Coley Bohachic Jr.
Ruby spent many years working at Granny’s One Stop, where she proudly worked alongside her mother and stepfather. She was well known for her cooking and bartending skills and the warmth she showed everyone she met. Ruby loved animals. She also loved spending time with her family, especially beach vacations where she found joy and peace fishing. Her favorite destination was Cherry Grove.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was predeceased in death by her stepfather, Legrand McKenzie.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Agape Hospice for the compassionate care given to Ruby during this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
