The Hemingway Tigers edged the Lake View Wild Gators 44-43 in varsity basketball action played in Lake View on Tuesday, January 13.
The score was knotted at 9 after the first quarter of play. Hemingway held a slim 1-point lead, 22-21, at halftime. After 3 quarters of play, the Tigers were up 33-28.
Lake View’s Terrence Alford led the Wild Gators with 18 points. He had five 2-point baskets, two 3-point baskets, and 2 free throws. Cameron Wheeler added 9 points with three 2-point baskets and 3 free throws. Jalen Clarke had two 2-point baskets and a 3-point basket for 7 points. Landon King had a 2-piont basket and a free throw for 3 points. William Newell and Ammiel Rowland each had a 3-point basket.
Hemingway’s Quinton Hannah led all scorers with 22 points. He had eight 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and 3 free throws. Jamer Wright added 7 points with two 2-point baskets and 3 free throws. Deon Nesmith had 4 free throws. Khalil Brown had a 3-point basket and a free throw for 4 points. Tremain Bluefort had two 2-point baskets. Tayvon Scott sank a free throw.
