Greenwood defeated Delmae 11-9 in the 10 U tournament at the Dillon Kiwanis Park played on Friday, June 5.
After the first inning of play, Greenwood was up 3-2. After 2 innings, the game was tied at 3. Delmae led 7-6 after 3 innings of play. After 4 innings, Delmae held a 1-run lead, 7-6. Greenwood took an 11-7 lead after the fifth inning. Delmae scored 2 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut the lead to 2 runs, 11-9. With base runners on second and third and 2 outs, Greenwood managed to get the third out and win by 2 runs.
Baseball play continued today, Saturday, June 6. The championship will be on Monday, June 8.
The Dillon Kiwanis Michael S. Lecholop Park on the Ray Wilson Field is located on Julia Lane in Dillon.
