Girls With Knowledge Mentoring Group was recently recognized for their good work in the community. GWK is a nonprofit 501(C3) organization in Dillon, S.C. Their mission is to empower the next generation of young teen females ages 13-18 years to reach the full potential in life. For the past two years Girls With Knowledge has been the forefront for young individuals in the Pee Dee area. Community service is one thing that GWK is big on. Over the past two years GWK has reached over 1500 community service and volunteer hours. From doing back to school give aways, coat drives, feeding the homeless, prom dress giveaways and much more. Girls With Knowledge was recognized in August 2023 for the Multiplying the Good Jefferson award by WPDE 15 news. On March 16, 2024 Charlene Carmichael, the founder and director of GWK, had the chance to accept the award on GWK’s behalf amongst 12 other winners in the state of S.C. GWK ranked #8 for being one of the most active mentoring groups in the state of S.C. Charlene Carmichael along with her mentors and mentees will continue to strive for change and multiplying the good in the Pee Dee Area.
