Artist Jason Best put the finishing touch on the interactive mural today, Monday, November 17, 2025, in downtown Dillon that he has been painting for the past week by placing its name and his signature on the painting.
The mural has been named “Wings of Praise.” The public is invited to stop by become a butterfly, climb the tree, or sit in the swing and become part of the mural.
The mural features a large tree that somewhat resembles a cross with two red cardinals holding a banner that says “I will praise thee for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” The butterfly features some of the colors from the City of Dillon’s logo.
Best is the artist for another of the six murals in downtown Dillon called “Children on Parade,” which is in the Lockemy Courtyard. He also painted the city logo on the dance floor in the Festival Marketplace, which will be on display when the grand opening is held there on Wednesday.
Everyone present remarked about how beautiful and significant the mural is and what a great addition it is to downtown Dillon.
A dedication will be held in early December.
