On May 13, 2026 at approximately 1:30 a.m., deputies responded to 3139 US 301 in the Hamer area of Dillon County in reference to shots fired.
Upon arrival, deputies located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound near the Vanity Lounge. The victim was transported for medical treatment and was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The deceased victim has been identified as 23-year-old Kim Maurice Rowland, Jr. of Dillon.
During the course of the investigation, law enforcement determined that three individuals had been shot. In addition, several vehicles and nearby buildings were struck by gunfire. Investigators recovered more than 80 shell casings from the scene.
