Make plans to be at the City of Dillon’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration and chili cookoff on Saturday, March 14, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Festival Marketplace in downtown Dillon at 112 S. Railroad Avenue.
There are 13 vendors competing in the Chili Cookoff competition. The teams include The Methodist Men, Agape Farm South, Winyah Rivers Alliance, Anderson Brothers Bank, Jennifer Hyman and Sisters, Bridge Builders, City of Dillon Police Department, Dillon County Sheriff’s Office Animal Protection, Dillon County EMS, Dillon County Council, the Dillon County Republican Party, The Red Cardinal, and Platinum Desserts and More. Come sample various types and flavors of chili and vote for your favorite to win the People’s Choice Award.
In addition to the Chili Cookoff, several vendors will also be on hand. The Carolinas Art Guild will have various items for sale and will be holding art demonstrations. Other vendors include the Dillon County Humane Society, Button’s Candles, Katherine’s Concessions, Quick Serve, Travelin’ Tom’s, Todd’s Balloons, and Amazing Faces.
Megan Doss will be performing and is looking forward to entertaining the crowd. “Megan has been singing since the age of 8. She’s been doing this full time for over 10 years. She’s opened for acts such as Pam Tillis, Sammy Kershaw, Kameron Marlowe, Nantucket, Old Dominion, and more. She travels around VA, NC & SC and just last year performed her first international show in Belize,” according to the band press person. She will be singing new and old country as well as top 40 pop dance music, classic rock, and classic hits from other genres of music. Musically, there should be something for everyone to enjoy.
Don’t miss this great event, and come celebrate St. Paddy’s day a little early right here in downtown Dillon.
