The Schafer Foundation donated a 2024 Polaris Ranger Extreme Duty 4×4 to Dillon County Emergency Services.
This replaces a 2009 model.
Dillon County Emergency Services Director Daniel Moody said that The Schafer Foundation had been a big supporter and that he appreciates it. Moody said this was by no means the first donation that they have received from The Schafer Foundation. Since 2021, Emergency Services in Dillon County has received over $200,000 for a drone, the blood program, and other worthwhile items needed to provide the best emergency services possible to Dillon County citizens.
The Schafer Foundation donation continues a proud family tradition by the Schafer family, first by Alan Schafer and then by Richard Schafer, that is being carried on by Ryan Schafer today.
In addition to Emergency Services, the Schafer Foundation has donated millions in the past several years to Dillon County for the new and improved parks, funds for the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office to address narcotics and violent crime including the purchase of greatly needed equipment, and more.
Schafer Foundation money has positively impacted and touched the lives of countless individuals in the county, state, and other states. Schools, parks, fire departments, the Relay for Life, the Red Cross, emergency services, the theatre, animal causes such as the Humane Society, and other charitable organizations have been the beneficiaries of their generosity at one time or another for more than 50 years.
