The Pregnancy Center Of Dillon’s ‘Night For Life’ Highlights Importance Of Organization

The Pregnancy Center of Dillon held the “Night For Life” Fundraiser on Thursday, May 1, at First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Dillon.
The Board of Directors Chairwoman Cynthia Hulon welcomed everyone to the event.
Prayer was offered, and a delicious meal was served.
The Anchor Club of Dillon and youth of Dillon Christian School served the guests.
First Baptist Church Pastor Jamie Arnette showed a video of The Pregnancy Life Center coming to life. First Baptist Church volunteers took three Saturdays to remove the plaster off the walls in the house that was damaged in the October 8, 2016 storm. The inside walls were removed, and the house was gutted. It has been restored with the Ray Wilson Foundation gift of money necessary to refurbish the building.
The Grand Opening of The Pregnancy Life Center’s new home was on March 26, 2025.
The Pregnancy Life Center is committed to serving unborn children and training parents. This center is dedicated to proclaiming God.
Cynthia Hulon introduced Arba Bryant, the Director of The Pregnancy Life Center. The Center has been a non-profit for over 10 years. Bryant has served as Director since January 1, 2025, and she will continue to serve.
Bryant introduced the Center’s staff and volunteers. She expressed her sincere gratitude for the volunteers and donors.
The Center offers counseling and training because of everyone’s donations.
Bryant showed a video of the inside of the Center.
In December 2024, the Center had 22 clients. On May 1, 2025, the Center was serving 49 clients. God is great! The Center is “God’s Hands and Feet.”
The Center’s client advocates offer compassion and support. They try to ascertain what the clients need.
It’s been stated “We save a Mom, we save a child.”
The Center’s RNs offer training to the clients.
The Center also has parenting classes.
Presently there are 9 clients in a Bible study held at the Center.
The Center offers a Baby Boutique. After clients have classes where they earn “baby bucks.” They are allowed to use these for purchases in the Baby Boutique for clothes.
Robert Bryant, husband of Arba Bryant, presented the Center’s future list. The Center wants to become medically certified. To do this, there are four primary steps. Step 1 is the NIFLA that takes 9 to 12 months to accomplish. Step 2 is the Center must find a doctor willing to review the Center’s policies and check on the Ultrasounds. Step 3 is nurses or ultrasound technicians. Step 4 is the acquisition of an ultrasound machine. The Center is attempting to accomplish all four steps in 12 months.
The Center has two fundraisers a year. This one, the “Night For Life”, and the baby bottles that are passed out on Mother’s Day and returned on Father’s Day. In fact, Liz Alderman was in charge of that on this evening.
The Center always needs volunteers for prayer, laundry, Baby Boutique workers, ambassadors to every church, help with gardening, and a receptionist.
By way of video, the clients of the Center extended praise to workers of The Pregnancy Center and thanked the Center for helping.
Hannah Williams not only spoke but also sang two songs that were a blessing to all in attendance. Mrs. Williams informed everyone that she and her husband wanted children but were unable to have any. This was in 2022. After prayer, she received a phone call from a lady who was to give birth to twins. They quickly went to the hospital. That night the twins were born. On December 1 of that year, they adopted the twins. On December 2, she was notified that she was pregnant.
Cynthia Hulon introduced the guest speaker of the evening, Pastor William T. (Bill) Monroe of the Florence Baptist Temple of Florence, S.C. He founded the church in November 1969, in an abandoned theatre building with 18 people present in the first service. The church is located on a beautiful 52-acre campus with 230,000 square feet of buildings and a state-of-the-art recreational complex, including football, baseball, softball, tennis, and picnic facilities. Each Sunday morning for the last 39 years, “The Baptist Temple Hour” has been telecast over a large area of the Carolinas on FOX and NBC affiliates. Monroe is the founder and President of Florence Christian School, with a current enrollment of 572 students. He served two terms as President of the Baptist Bible Fellowship International from 2002 – 2006. He also served as one of the founders and the first President of the International Baptist Network (2005 – 2006), and on numerous college boards, including Liberty University and Baptist Bible College, as well as the Palmetto Family Council. He is the author of 4 books, numerous pamphlets and journal articles in nationally-published magazines. He was educated at Appalachian Bible College, Columbia International University and the University of South Carolina, and has been awarded 3 Honorary Degrees. In 2009, Monroe was the recipient of the “Order of the Palmetto”, South Carolina’s highest civilian award, given by the Governor “for a lifetime of outstanding achievements.” Bill and his wife, Norma, have three adult children and eight grandchildren.
Pastor Bill Monroe gave an inspiring speech. He spoke of Pro-Life. He referred to the Supreme Court’s decision on January 22, 1973, women’s rights to an abortion, an act he referred to as “the face of pure evil.” This is a spiritual issue.
The S.C. Citizens for Life met in Columbia. He was there for the meeting. This group was pro-life. Monroe joined the fight for life. He has been fighting for 52 years.
“In 2023, we thought Roe vs. Wade was nullified,” stated Monroe. The killing of the unborn is wrong.
What can we do?
The Pregnancy Life Center “walks with the mother after the child is born.”
With unplanned pregnancies, women are usually confused and afraid. Women need help. However, one a woman sees an ultrasound, 80% will not abort the child.
We are making progress. However, our country is becoming pro-abortion.
God bless you all at The Pregnancy Life Center. We must keep fighting. What can we do? Ask people for money. It is stated in Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given you.” The Florence Baptist Temple made a donation to The Pregnancy Life Center.
Adam Jacobs recited Isaiah 59″19 which describes a universal acknowledgement of God’s power and glory. It states that people from the west will fear the name of the Lord, and those from the east will revere his glory. It then uses the imagery of a flood to illustrate an overwhelming attack by an enemy, but also promises that the Spirit of the Lord will raise a banner (or standard) against him, signifying divine intervention and protection. Jacobs asked everyone present to give financially.
Rev. David Owens, pastor of Beulah Baptist Church of Hamer, offered the closing prayer.
The Pregnancy Center of Dillon is located at 300 North Fourth Avenue, Dillon, S.C.
