Mayor Tally McColl said he would like to thank City Administrator Glen Wagner and the city council for making the splash pad a reality. He said recreation is important to the City of Dillon and quality of life projects like this one are at the top of their list. He expressed his deep thanks to Ryan Schafer and The Schafer Foundation for providing the funds necessary to buy the canopies for the splash pad and the playground. McColl said this is a great project that will give the kids a place to enjoy all summer long.
Ryan Schafer said The Schafer Foundation just wants to ensure that kids have safe, fun outdoor activities to do that gets them outside and away from computers and phones for a while. Schafer said they have enjoyed working with the City, which has a much more competent administrative team than another local entity that he has dealt with lately.
Ages 2-12 are allowed to play in the splash pad with adult supervision. The hours are dawn to dusk.
