The Mullins Auctioneers defeated the Philip Simmons Iron Horses 48-37 in varsity basketball action played in Charleston on Friday, February 21.
Mullins tacked on 13 points in the first quarter and added 12 points in the second quarter. In the third quarter of play, Mullins placed 10 points onto the scoreboard and added 13 points in the final quarter of play. Mullins advanced to Round 3 of the playoffs.
Mullins’ Deyon Ford led all scorers with 29 points. He also had 5 defensive rebounds, 2 assists, and 4 steals. Dakarai Worley added 10 points to the scoreboard plus 6 offensive rebounds, 13 defensive rebounds, 1 assist, and 3 steals. Amir Lee contributed 7 points with 2 offensive rebounds and 2 steals. Keith Bridgett had 2 points, 1 offensive rebound, 1 defensive rebound, and 2 steals.
Mullins is 19-5 overall and 8-4 in third place in AA Region 7.
Philip Simmons is 19-6 overall and 10-0 in first place in AA Region 6.
