Anderson Brothers Bank proudly presented a $5,000 donation to the Humane Society of Dillon County on Monday, January 6th, during a special ceremony held at the bank’s Dillon office. The contribution underscores Anderson Brothers Bank’s commitment to supporting local organizations that positively impact the community.
Mary McDaniel, a representative of the Humane Society of Dillon County, accepted the donation on behalf of the organization. “We are incredibly grateful for Anderson Brothers Bank’s generosity,” said McDaniel. “This donation will go a long way in helping with our spay and neuter program to help with reducing populations in our shelter and those left on the streets to fend for themselves, along with providing care and shelter for animals in need for low-income residents of Dillon County.”
The Humane Society of Dillon County was founded in 2013 by volunteers at the Dillon County Animal Shelter who realized that their adoption and rescue efforts were not going to improve the problem of cat and dog overpopulation. The only viable solution then, as well as now, is a good spay-neuter program. So, the Humane Society was created to provide a program to help low-income pet owners get their pets spayed or neutered.
The Humane Society of Dillon County’s purpose has expanded to help improve the lives of animal shelter cats and dogs and also privately owned pets. Since 2013, we have spent over $350,000 on spay-neutering and vaccinations for shelter animals, funding emergency care for injuries, fostering, rescue, and transport efforts for strays and shelter animals, and many other activities that help to improve the lives of our needy Dillon County animals.
“At Anderson Brothers Bank, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve,” said Susan Grant, VP Marketing Director. “The Humane Society of Dillon County does vital work, and we’re honored to support their efforts in making a difference for both animals and families in our area.”
The $5,000 donation will assist the Humane Society in covering spay and neuter expenses for low-income families and the purchase of equipment to capture strays, ensuring that vulnerable animals receive the attention and resources they need.
This contribution is part of Anderson Brothers Bank’s ongoing commitment to community giving, which focuses on initiatives that enhance the quality of life for residents throughout the region.
