Neocea Alexus Johnson, 30 years old of Marion, was arrested on August 18, 2025, after her seven-month-old child tested positive for cocaine. Deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office initially charged Johnson with the unlawful placing of the child at risk or causing harm. Her four minor children were taken into emergency protective custody and placed with the South Carolina Department of Social Services.
Following further investigation, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division has issued four additional warrants against Johnson. She is now also accused of threatening to kill her four children while displaying a firearm, with the alleged incidents occurring between June 1 and August 18, 2025.
Johnson remains in custody at the Marion County Detention Center without bond.
