Waccamaw Defeats Dillon 13-2

The 8-5 Waccamaw Warriors defeated the 3-8 Dillon Wildcats 13-2 in a varsity conference baseball game on Friday, April 4, at Pawley’s Island in a shortened run-ruled game.
The Warriors placed 5 runs onto the scoreboard in the bottom of the first inning and added a run in the bottom of the second inning. The Wildcats placed 2 runs onto the scoreboard in the top of the fourth inning. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Waccamaw added 7 runs. Dillon was unable to score in the top of the fifth inning.
Dillon committed 3 errors in the game; Waccamaw committed 1 error.
The Waccamaw players were walked 6 times in the game and struck out only 2 times.
The Warriors’ Diego Patrick pitched 4 innings and allowed 3 hits, 2 runs that were not earned, walked 1, and struck out 7. Ben Rodenbeck pitched 1 inning and allowed 1 hit, no runs, walked 1, and struck out 3.
Waccamaw connected for 11 hits including 2 doubles by Cameron Craft and scored 3 runs in 2 at-bats. Ty Kerns also collected 3 hits, 2 rbi, and scored 2 runs for the Warriors. Bayden Stacy had 2 hits, 4 rbi, and scored a run in 3 at-bats. C. Galasso had 2 hits in 3 plate appearances. Nathaniel Mabus and Owen Mason each had a single.
On Tuesday, April 8, Waccamaw will host Aynor at 6:30 p.m.
Dillon will travel to Bennettsville to face the Marlboro County Bulldogs on Tuesday, April 8, at 6:30 p.m.
